In conjunction with the official visit of Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake to the Maldives, the Maldivian government has announced a significant visa concession for Sri Lankan citizens.

Effective from July 29, 2025, Sri Lankan travelers visiting the Maldives for tourism purposes will be granted a free 90-day on-arrival tourist visa.

To be eligible for this visa, travelers must hold a valid passport and be able to demonstrate sufficient financial means to support their stay in the Maldives.

The Maldivian government stated that this visa facility is provided in accordance with the bilateral visa facilitation agreement between Sri Lanka and the Maldives, and in compliance with the immigration laws and regulations of the Maldives.

This move is intended to strengthen mutual cooperation between the two nations, and further underscores the high priority the Maldives places on its relationship with Sri Lanka, the government emphasized.
