Two Women Killed, Several Injured in Southern Expressway Accident

According to police, the accident occurred near the 175th kilometer post in the Angunakolapelessa area when a van traveling from Mattala to Colombo overturned. Preliminary investigations reveal that the van's driver lost control after one of the tires burst, leading to the vehicle overturning.

There were six individuals in the van at the time of the incident. The injured passengers were rushed to a nearby hospital and are currently receiving treatment.

Authorities have initiated an investigation into the cause of the accident. Police urge all motorists to exercise extreme caution while driving and strictly follow road safety regulations to prevent such unfortunate incidents.
