Over 5,400 Cybercrime Complaints Reported This Year – SLCERT

The Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team (SLCERT) reports that over 5,400 cybercrime complaints have been received so far this year.
Senior Engineer Charuka Damunupola stated that there is a marked rise in crimes involving social media platforms, particularly Facebook and WhatsApp. Authorities urge the public to exercise caution and report suspicious online activity promptly.
