Final Rites of Most Venerable Anamaduwe Sri Dhammadassi Thero to Take Place Today

According to the Funeral Committee, the cremation and funeral proceedings are scheduled to commence at 2:30 p.m. at the Asgiriya Police Grounds in Kandy.

The revered Thero's remains currently lie in state at the Upali Memorial Hall of the historic Asgiri Temple, where thousands of devotees, religious leaders, and dignitaries have been paying their respects since his passing.

Most Venerable Anamaduwe Sri Dhammadassi Thero was widely respected for his scholarly contributions to the Buddhist Sasana, his guidance to the monastic community, and his unwavering commitment to the preservation of the Dhamma.

A large number of religious leaders, government officials, and members of the public are expected to attend today’s funeral rites to pay their final respects to the late Thero.
