16 Students Injured as School Bus Veers Off Road in Beligalla

At least 16 schoolchildren were injured this morning when a bus carrying them veered off the Beliatta–Weeraketiya road near Beligalla and collided with an embankment, police said.
According to initial reports, the bus left the roadway under unclear circumstances before crashing into the roadside embankment.
All injured students were promptly transported to the Beligalla Hospital for treatment. Further investigations into the cause of the accident are currently underway.
