Parliament is scheduled to convene today (22)

The time from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. has been allocated for parliamentary business mentioned under Standing Orders 22(1) to 22(6).

The period from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. has been reserved for questions requiring oral answers, while the time from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. is allocated for questions under Standing Order 27(2).

From 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the second reading debate will be held on the following bills:

The Employees' Budget Relief Allowances (Amendment) Bill (to amend Act No. 36 of 2005),

The Employees' Budget Relief Allowance (Amendment) Bill (to amend Act No. 4 of 2016), and

The National Minimum Wage of Workers (Amendment) Bill.

The Secretary-General stated that, based on the Supreme Court ruling regarding petitions filed against the two Employees' Budget Relief Allowance (Amendment) Bills, all three bills are expected to be passed by a special majority vote.

Subsequently, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the Parliament has agreed to hold an adjournment debate on a motion brought forward by the opposition.
