The final rites of the late Anunayake of the Asgiri Chapter, Most Venerable Anamaduwe Sri Dhammadassi Thero, will be held on Thursday (24) with full state sponsorship at the Asgiriya Police Ground, Kandy.
According to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, the Thero’s remains will be taken to Liyangastenna Purana Viharaya at 4:00 p.m. today (21) for public homage until 3:00 p.m. tomorrow (22). From tomorrow evening until 1:30 p.m. Thursday, the remains will lie in state at the Asgiriya Temple.
The funeral ceremony and cremation will commence at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Police Grounds.
