CIABOC Receives Over 2,000 Complaints in Five Months

Sri Lanka’s Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has received 2,138 complaints from January 1 to May 31 this year. Of these, 1,583 were referred for further investigation.

The commission conducted 44 raids during this period, leading to the arrest of 31 suspects, including eight police officers. Additionally, 42 cases were filed in the High Court involving bribery, corruption, non-declaration of assets, and illicit enrichment. A total of 45 individuals were indicted.
