Tsunami warning issued after quakes in Russian Kamchatka

Tsunami warning was issued for Russia's Kamchatka Peninsula on Sunday after two powerful undersea earthquakes struck the region, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center and the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).

The stronger quake, registering a magnitude of 7.4, struck at a depth of 20 kilometers, approximately 144 kilometers east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, home to 180,000 residents.

A few minutes earlier, a nearby quake measuring 6.7 in magnitude was recorded.
