Airport & Aviation Services Sri Lanka (AASL) has issued a stern warning to the public against flying kites near international airports, citing serious threats to aircraft and passenger safety.
In an official notice, AASL stated that flying any object above 300 feet within a 5 km radius of an international airport is strictly prohibited and is a punishable offense.
Authorities stressed that such activities could disrupt flight operations and endanger the lives of passengers and crew. The AASL urges the public to adhere to these safety regulations to avoid legal consequences and ensure the safety of all air travelers.
