Traffic Restrictions on Hatton–Colombo Road Tonight

The Perahera will travel from the Devalaya through Karawanella town and briefly along the Kegalle–Avissawella road before turning near the Wewandala Viharaya and returning to the Devalaya.

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes during this period to avoid inconvenience. Police have issued specific detour instructions for vehicles traveling between Hatton and Colombo.

Alternative Routes:

For vehicles traveling from Hatton towards Avissawella:

From the Nawata junction at Yatiyanthota, turn right onto the Parussella–Panapitiya road and travel to Warawala junction, then turn left and proceed to Karawanella junction on the Kegalle–Avissawella main road, and turn right towards Avissawella.

For vehicles traveling from Colombo towards Hatton:

From Karawanella junction, turn left onto the Kegalle–Avissawella main road and proceed to Warawala junction, then turn right onto the Bulathkohupitiya road and travel to Panapitiya junction, turn right again onto the Hapugammana–Parussella road and proceed to Nawata junction, rejoin the main road and turn left towards Hatton.
