Veteran actress B. Saroja Devi, a beloved icon in Indian cinema, has sadly passed away at the age of 87 due to age-related health issues. According to reports, she was found unconscious at her home in Malleswaram, Bengaluru. She was immediately rushed to the hospital, but doctors declared her dead on arrival.
Saroja Devi was a legendary figure who made her mark across multiple film industries in India. She acted in over 200 movies in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi, earning her the title Chaturbhasha Taare, meaning ‘Four-language Star.’ Known for her graceful performances and emotional depth, she was fondly called ‘Abhinaya Saraswathi’ and ‘Kannadathu Paingili’ by her fans.
Her journey into movies began at the young age of 17 with the Kannada movie Mahakavi Kalidasa in 1955. Just a few years later, she became a major star with her role opposite M.G. Ramachandran in Nadodi Mannan (1958). The Tamil movie turned her into a household name, especially in Tamil cinema.
