Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, along with the districts of Nuwara-Eliya, Kandy, Galle, and Matara, are expected to experience showers at times.
The North-western province may experience intermittent spells of rain.
Uva and Eastern provinces could see showers or thundershowers at a few places during the afternoon or night.

Strong winds reaching speeds of 40-50 kmph can be expected over:
The western slopes of the central hills
Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, North-western, and North-central provinces
Marine Weather Forecast (Next 24 Hours):
🌊 Rain Conditions:
- Showers are likely in the sea areas stretching from Colombo to Matara via Galle.
💨 Wind Conditions:
General wind flow will be Westerly to South-westerly, with speeds of 30-40 kmph.
Gusts could increase to:
- 55-65 kmph: Off the coast from Galle to Pottuvil via Matara and Hambantota
- 50-60 kmph: From Galle to Vakarai via Colombo, Puttalam, Kankasanthurai, and Trincomalee
🌊 Sea Conditions:
- Sea areas from Galle to Pottuvil (via Matara and Hambantota) may be very rough at times.
- Waters from Galle to Vakarai (via Colombo, Puttalam, and Kankasanthurai) will be fairly rough to rough.
- Wave heights of 2.5 – 3.0 meters are expected, potentially causing nearshore surges from Puttalam to Pottuvil via Colombo, Galle, and Hambantota.
- Naval and fishing communities are strongly advised not to venture into sea areas extending from Galle to Pottuvil via Matara and Hambantota for the next 24 hours.
- Those operating in other sea regions are urged to remain vigilant.
- The general public is requested to take precautions against localized strong winds and lightning during possible thundershowers.
