100 Complaints Filed Against Dr. Maheshi Wijeratne – CIABOC

The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) says it has received complaints from nearly 100 individuals regarding surgical procedures conducted by specialist neurosurgeon Dr. Maheshi Wijeratne of Sri Jayewardenepura General Hospital.
The allegations involve financial losses to patients due to the alleged arrangement of obtaining surgical equipment from external sources. Statements have already been recorded from several affected individuals.
The Commission urges the public to provide any further information by calling the 1954 hotline or emailing [email protected], as investigations continue into the suspected irregularities.
