Train operations on Sri Lanka’s main railway line have been disrupted following a mechanical failure on a train operating from Aluthgama to Abepussa.
According to railway officials, the incident occurred near the Meerigama railway station, where the train experienced a sudden technical malfunction.
Efforts are currently underway to resolve the issue and restore normal train services. Passengers have been advised to expect delays and make alternative travel arrangements where possible.
