Deputy Minister Eranga Weeraratne stated that the initiative is a collaborative effort involving several universities, including the University of Moratuwa, and private sector partners.
He noted that the software will enable near-instant translations of spoken content between Sinhala and Tamil, significantly improving communication between the two language communities.
The software is expected to be made available to the public within the next six months.
