One person succumbed to his injuries in Kandana shooting

A shooting incident in Kandana this morning (03) has left one person dead and another injured. Police confirmed that the intended target was Sameera Manahara, the former private secretary of the late Minister Mangala Samaraweera, who was traveling in the car at the time of the attack.
Manahara sustained injuries in the shooting but hospital sources say his condition is not serious.
The deceased has been identified as 50-year-old Upali Amunuwila, a resident of Kandana and the brother-in-law of Manahara. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
