The Cabinet has approved the establishment of a Presidential Special Investigation Committee to investigate financial irregularities at SriLankan Airlines and the Airport and Aviation Services Limited (AASL).
Proposed by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the committee will be chaired by former Auditor General Gamini Wijesinghe. According to the Department of Government Information, the committee is tasked with carrying out a comprehensive probe into alleged fraud, corruption, and malpractice that took place between 2010 and 2025.
The findings will be presented in a detailed report along with recommendations for future legal and administrative action.
