Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) has resumed normal flight operations following recent disruptions that affected air traffic. According to Ms. Roshani Masakorala, Chairperson of the Katunayake Flight Operations Committee, approximately 80% of flight operations at the Katunayake-based airport have now stabilized.

While most airlines have resumed standard service, Qatar Airways continues to face delays. Sources report that the airline is experiencing staffing issues, as flight crew and ground handling personnel at Doha International Airport have yet to return to duty.

Mr. Sunil Jayaratne, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka, confirmed that all SriLankan Airlines flights that were previously diverted to alternative airports have successfully returned to Katunayake. These aircraft have now been redeployed and are operating on their regular schedules.

Although minor delays were reported due to rerouting and refueling at alternative airports, Mr. Jayaratne assured passengers that all flights return to their scheduled time tables fron today (25)

Passengers are advised to check with their respective airlines for the latest updates on flight status.
