Sri Lankan Embassy in Qatar Issues Safety Advisory

The advisory follows Monday’s attack on US forces stationed at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. The incident, which is believed to be linked to rising hostilities between the United States and Iran, has prompted widespread concern in the Gulf region. Iran has vowed retaliation after recent US strikes reportedly targeted key Iranian nuclear facilities.
In light of the situation, the Sri Lankan Embassy has called on its citizens to remain vigilant and closely monitor updates issued by both Qatari authorities and the Embassy.
“Sri Lankan nationals are advised to avoid unnecessary travel, stay indoors, and follow all instructions issued by the local government and security agencies,” the Embassy stated.
For urgent assistance, Sri Lankan citizens in Qatar can contact the Embassy via:
Email: [email protected]
Hotline: +974 7118 2587
The Embassy emphasized the importance of preparedness and remaining calm while the situation develops. It also assured the Sri Lankan community that it is closely monitoring events and is in communication with Qatari officials to ensure the safety and well-being of its nationals.
