
Showers, Strong Winds Expected Across Several Regions

Several spells of showers are forecast in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-western provinces, and in Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya districts.
Uva Province, as well as Ampara and Batticaloa districts, may experience showers or thundershowers in the afternoon or at night.
Fairly strong winds (30-40 kmph) are expected over the western slopes of the central hills, and in Northern, North-Central, and North-Western provinces, along with Trincomalee and Hambantota districts.
The public is urged to take necessary precautions against temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Sea Conditions (Next 24 Hours):
Showers are likely in sea areas off the coast from Puttalam to Matara via Colombo and Galle.
Winds will blow from the south-west, with speeds between 30-40 kmph.
Wind speeds may increase up to 50-60 kmph in sea areas off Chilaw to Kankasanthurai via Mannar and Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota.
Speeds may rise to 45-50 kmph in areas off Chilaw to Matara and Kankasanthurai to Trincomalee.

The seas off Mannar and Hambantota coasts are expected to be rough at times.
Seas off Colombo, Galle, and Trincomalee coasts will be fairly rough at times.
