In light of escalating tensions in the Middle East, five SriLankan Airlines flights have been diverted to alternative airports in the region as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of passengers and crew.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL), the affected flights have been rerouted to Muscat International Airport in Oman, King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and Dubai International Airport in the United Arab Emirates.

Authorities emphasize that these diversions are temporary and part of a broader strategy to safeguard passengers amid the current regional instability.

“All necessary precautionary measures are being taken to ensure the safety of Sri Lankans and other passengers traveling with SriLankan Airlines,” the CAASL stated.

Officials also confirmed that the situation is being closely monitored, and flight operations will return to normal once it is deemed safe to do so.

Passengers are advised to stay in contact with the airline for real-time updates regarding flight schedules and travel arrangements.
