Sri Lanka Customs has recorded a significant revenue milestone, collecting Rs. 163 billion from vehicle imports so far this year. The figure was revealed by Additional Director General of Customs, Siwali Aruggoda, during a recent media briefing in Colombo.

The surge in revenue follows the government's decision to lift restrictions on vehicle imports, which had been in place for several years. Customs officials attribute the sharp increase in revenue to the pent-up demand and renewed import activity under the revised policy.
