Dr. Harshana Suriyapperuma Resigns from Parliament

The Secretary General of Parliament, Mrs. Kushani Rohanadeera, has officially informed the Chairman of the Election Commission that a vacancy has arisen in Parliament following the resignation of Dr. Harshana Suriyapperuma.
Dr. Suriyapperuma, a National List MP representing the National People’s Power (NPP) and the Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning, tendered his resignation in writing to the Secretary General. His departure now opens the way for a new appointment to Parliament from the NPP’s National List.
