Colombo Chief Magistrate Thanuja Lakmali Jayasinghe on Wednesday ordered the release of former Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, his wife Kusum Priyadarshani Epa Wiheena, and their daughter Chandula Ramali Rambukwella on bail, following their arrest on money laundering charges.

Each suspect was granted bail with a cash component of Rs. 50,000 and three personal sureties worth Rs. 5 million each. The court also imposed a travel ban on all three.

However, as the accused failed to meet the bail conditions, they were returned to remand custody.
