Three Including Specialist Neurosurgeon Remanded Over Alleged Corruption

The arrests were made on Monday (17) in connection with an alleged scheme involving the unauthorized sale of medicines at inflated prices through a third party. CIABOC officials allege that the suspects were involved in diverting medical supplies intended for hospital use and selling them at higher rates for personal gain.

Following their arrest, the suspects were produced before the relevant magistrate’s court and subsequently remanded pending further investigations.

CIABOC has launched a comprehensive probe into the incident, which has raised serious concerns about corruption within the healthcare sector. Authorities have not ruled out the possibility of further arrests as the investigation continues.
