
Agreement of debt restructuring process signs between France and Sri Lanka

On behalf of Sri Lanka, Secretary to the Ministry of Finance, Economic Stabilization, and National Policies, Mr. Mahinda Siriwardana, and on behalf of France, Assistant Secretary of the Department of Multilateral Affairs, Trade, and Development Policy, and Director General of the Treasury, Mr. William Roos, signed the agreement.
The signing of this bilateral agreement marks an important milestone in the debt restructuring process and will contribute to restoring debt sustainability and accelerating the rebuilding of Sri Lanka’s economy.
The Department of External Resources stated that this agreement is evidence of the Sri Lankan government’s commitment to swiftly completing the debt restructuring process.
The department also highlighted that it enables the Government of Sri Lanka to achieve meaningful progress in restoring debt sustainability.
