
CBSL Governor meets IMF Deputy Managing director

Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe has praised the country’s strong engagement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), stating it has been vital in steering Sri Lanka out of its recent economic crisis.
Welcoming IMF First Deputy Managing Director Dr. Gita Gopinath and Asia-Pacific Department Director Dr. Krishna Srinivasan, who arrived on the island yesterday, Dr. Weerasinghe highlighted that the partnership has helped establish robust macroeconomic fundamentals critical for long-term stability and growth.
The visit underscores the IMF’s continued support for Sri Lanka’s recovery efforts.
