SriLankan Airlines has announced temporary adjustments to its European flight operations due to escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, which have led to the closure of several regional airspace corridors.

In an official statement released today, the airline confirmed that all flights to and from European destinations — including key routes such as London and Paris — are being rerouted to ensure passenger safety and operational security.

As a direct consequence of the altered flight paths, travel durations have increased. Flight UL504, arriving from London to Colombo, was diverted to Doha for refuelling due to the extended distance. Meanwhile, UL501, departing Colombo for Paris, is also being rerouted to avoid flying over restricted or potentially hazardous airspace.

The airline emphasized that these changes are precautionary and align with international aviation advisories. "Our top priority remains the safety of our passengers and crew. We are closely monitoring the situation and will resume regular flight paths as soon as conditions permit," the statement said.

Passengers are advised to check for the latest updates on flight schedules and allow for possible delays as the airline adapts to the evolving regional dynamics.
