According to police sources, the accident occurred during peak morning hours and involved multiple vehicles. Several cars and motorcycles were reportedly damaged when the bus lost control and collided with oncoming traffic. Emergency services rushed to the scene to attend to the injured and clear the roadway.
Traffic along the old Avissawella-Colombo road was temporarily disrupted due to the incident, but police have since restored the flow of vehicles.
