10-Hour Water Cut on June 11 Due to Biyagama Plant Upgrade

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has announced a 10-hour water cut on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, from 8:30 AM, affecting several areas including Peliyagoda.
The disruption is due to the integration of a new solar power system at the Biyagama Water Treatment Plant, which is being connected to the national grid as part of ongoing infrastructure upgrades.
Areas affected include the Pradeshiya Sabha zones of Kelaniya, Wattala, Biyagama, Mahara, Dompe, Ja-Ela, Katana, Minuwangoda, and the Gampaha region.
The NWSDB advises residents to store sufficient water in advance and apologizes for any inconvenience caused.
