The Sri Lanka Police have confirmed that a statement has been recorded from the Commissioner General of Prisons regarding the controversial release of inmates under the Presidential Pardon granted for Vesak.
According to the Police Media Division, preliminary investigations suggest that a number of prisoners may have been released illegally during the process. Authorities are currently probing the matter further, and legal action is expected against those found responsible.
