The Locomotive Operating Engineers Association has temporarily suspended its planned withdrawal from coastal train operations, which was scheduled to commence at 12 noon today (06).

The association had announced the industrial action in protest over persistent faults in the signaling system along the coastal railway line, citing safety concerns and the need for urgent resolution.

However, following a discussion held this morning (06) with the General Manager of Railways, the association reported receiving a positive and constructive response to their concerns.

In light of the outcome of the meeting, the association has decided not to proceed with the planned withdrawal for the time being.

Officials from the association emphasized that while the decision to suspend the action reflects goodwill and acknowledgment of the railway authorities' commitment, they will continue to monitor progress on the promised improvements to the signaling system.
