Deputy Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs, Sunil Watagala, along with senior government officials, was present at the airport to extend a warm welcome to the visiting dignitary and his delegation.
During his visit, Deputy Prime Minister Marles is scheduled to hold high-level discussions with Sri Lankan leaders, including President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism, Vijitha Herath. The meetings are expected to focus on strengthening bilateral ties, regional security cooperation, and deepening defence and diplomatic relations between the two nations.
Marles will also meet Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, who is set to be the Chief Guest at a special luncheon hosted in his honour at Australia House. The event is being organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism.
