Dr. Anil Jasinghe, Secretary of the Ministry of Health, states that instructions have been promptly given to the relevant authorities to issue two infographics containing all information related to COVID-19 and its transmission trends.
Accordingly, one of these infographics is intended for the general public, while the other is targeted at healthcare personnel.
He also points out that there is a growing tendency for both accurate and inaccurate (or partially true) information about COVID-19 to circulate.
However, he emphasizes that there is no need to create undue fear regarding COVID-19 and urges the public to place trust only in information released by the Ministry of Health and other authorized and qualified official spokespersons and institutions.
