Adverse weather affects over 460 people in Nuwara Eliya district

The Disaster Management Center reports that 462 individuals from 112 families have been affected by the adverse weather conditions currently impacting the island. In Nuwara Eliya District, 130 people from 30 families are currently sheltered in relief centers.

The extreme weather, driven by the activation of the southwest monsoon, has caused heavy rainfall and strong winds since the evening of May 29. Additionally, 90 houses in the district have been partially damaged.
