Authorities have announced a 36-hour water supply suspension across several areas in Kandy, effective from 2:00 PM today (28) until 2:00 AM on the 30th. The disruption is due to damage caused to a major water pipeline during construction work at the Kandy Goodshed Bus Stand.
Affected areas include Peradeniya Road, William Gopallawa Mawatha (from the Court Complex to the Municipal Council Junction), Asgiriya, Wewa Raawa, Raja Pihilla Mawatha, Buwelikada, Thennakumbura, Gurudeniya, Ampitiya, and all streets in the Kandy city center.
Residents are advised to take necessary precautions and store sufficient water for their needs.
