
Dozens injured after car plows into pedestrians in UK

UK police have arrested a man after a car plowed into Liverpool fans during the soccer club’s Premier League trophy parade on Monday evening, injuring dozens of people including four children.
“The man arrested is a 53-year-old white British man from the Liverpool area,” Merseyside police said in a statement, urging people not to speculate on the circumstances of the incident.
total of 27 people were taken to hospital, the head of service at North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust David Kitchin told a news conference. Two of those hospitalized one child and one adult had “sustained serious injuries,he said. CNN reported.
Four people three adults and one child had to be removed from underneath the vehicle, according to Chief Fire Officer of Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service Nick Searle, who said a further 20 people were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Merseyside Police’s Assistant Chief Constable Jenny Sims said the incident was not being treated as terrorism. She said the man arrested is believed to be the driver of the car.
