Special traffic plan implements for the National War Heroes’ Day tomorrow

The commemorative event is scheduled to take place from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., marking the 16th anniversary of the country’s war victory. Authorities have advised motorists to use alternate routes during this time to avoid traffic congestion.

Motorists exiting Colombo are advised to take the route from Polduwa Junction to Battaramulla Junction and proceed toward Palam Thuna Junction. Those entering Colombo can travel from Palam Thuna Junction to Battaramulla and continue through Polduwa Junction into the city.

Police are coordinating with the security forces to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and maintain public safety during the event. The public is requested to cooperate with law enforcement and plan their travel accordingly

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake is expected to attend the ceremony as the Chief Guest, participating in his official capacity as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.

Brigadier (Rtd.) Senarath Kohona, Chairman of the organizing authority, confirmed that the event will pay tribute to the sacrifices made by the nation’s war heroes and will be held with full military honours under the President’s patronage.
