Exposition of Sacred Tooth Relic Concludes Today

Thousands of devotees have gathered in the hill capital over the past week to participate in the ‘Siri Dalada Wandana’, a special religious event held to allow worshippers to perform the Dalada Vipassana. Today marks the final opportunity for devotees to pay homage from morning until afternoon.
In light of the overwhelming turnout, Kandy District Secretary Indika Udawatte has urged citizens to refrain from entering Kandy city. Speaking at a special media conference organized to convey the decisions of the Dalada Viharaya Steering Committee, Udawatte highlighted the need to ease congestion and ensure public safety.
Diyawadana Nilame Pradeep Nilanga Dela also addressed the media, confirming that the pilgrimage would conclude today as scheduled, despite the high volume of devotees. He reiterated the importance of adhering to the decisions taken to manage the event efficiently.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely, urging the public to cooperate with traffic regulations and health guidelines during the final day of worship.
