The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives, Abdulla Khaleel, will embark on an official visit to Sri Lanka from February 18 to 21, 2025. This visit is aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation between the two nations.
During his stay, Minister Khaleel is scheduled to pay courtesy calls on President Anura Kumara Disanayaka and Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya. These meetings are expected to further deepen ties between the two countries and explore opportunities for collaboration in various sectors.
Additionally, Foreign Minister Khaleel will hold official bilateral discussions with Sri Lanka's Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath. The discussions will take place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism, focusing on key areas of mutual interest, including diplomatic relations, trade, and regional security.
Accompanying Minister Khaleel on this visit will be Fathimath Inaya, the Foreign Secretary of the Maldives, as part of his delegation.
The official visit underscores the ongoing commitment between Sri Lanka and the Maldives to strengthen their partnership and work together on shared regional and global challenges.
