Three staff members of Parliament, including the assistant housekeeper from the Catering and Housekeeping Department, have been suspended following allegations of sexual harassment.
The suspensions were based on recommendations from a committee that investigated the incident, initially reported in August 2023.
The inquiry, led by former High Court Judge Kusala Sarojani Weerawardena, examined the complaints and evidence in detail. The findings of the investigation prompted the suspension of the three accused individuals.
