The National Building Research Organization has issued a landslide warning for several areas acoss the island effective until 4:00 PM today. The warning alerts communities in various districts to stay vigilant due to the heightened risk of landslides.

In Kegalle District, the following Divisional Secretariat Divisions are under alert: Deraniyagala, Ruwanwella, Dehimbvita, Yatianthota, Kegalle, Galigamuwa, Bulathkohupitiya, Warakapola, and Aranayaka. Similarly, in Ratnapura District, the Divisional Secretariat Divisions of Ratnapura, Kuruvita, and Aheliyagoda have been advised to remain cautious.

In addition, a broader landslide warning has been issued for the risk areas in Badulla, Galle, Kalutara, Kandy, Kurunegala, and Matara districts. Residents in these regions are urged to remain alert and take necessary precautions.

The NBRO has emphasized the importance of staying informed through local authorities and taking immediate action if any signs of instability are observed in these areas. Local disaster management teams have been activated, and people are advised to avoid landslide-prone areas during the warning period.
