The Acting Director General of Immigration and Emigration, D.M.D. Nilusha Balasuriya, has announced the rollout of a new online system for passport applications, set to begin on November 6.

This innovative platform allows users to reserve appointments for passport applications the following day, offering a limited number of tokens. The online system is designed to enhance convenience, enabling individuals to secure their reservations anytime and from anywhere.

In a bid to streamline the process and reduce congestion, the public is advised against visiting in person for reservations starting on November 6. Instead, all applications and bookings should be made through the official website.

This initiative marks a significant step towards modernizing the passport application process in Sri Lanka, improving accessibility and efficiency for all citizens.
