The Department of Railways has launched a new intercity train service between Colombo Fort and Kankesanthurai, starting today (2 November).
According to Deputy General Manager of Railways N. J. Idipolage, this service will run every Saturday and Sunday.
The train departs from Colombo Fort at 5:30 a.m., arriving in Kankesanthurai at 11:38 a.m. For the return journey, it departs from Kankesanthurai at 12:30 p.m. and reaches Colombo Fort by 7:19 p.m. on the same day, providing a convenient travel option for travelers on weekends.
