Doctors at Karapitiya Teaching Hospital in Galle have launched a 24-hour token strike, according to the Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA).
GMOA Treasurer, Dr. Ubhaya Bandara Warakagoda, explained that the strike is in response to alleged threats made by one doctor against several other doctors at the hospital. The GMOA expressed concern over the situation, emphasizing the need for a safe and supportive environment for medical staff. The strike is expected to last through the next 24 hours.
