The railway department has reported significant disruptions to train services on the costal line following the derailment of the Ruhunu Kumari train near Ginthota railway station.
Official of the Railway control room told Ziradaily that the rear engine of the train has derailed, and efforts are ongoing to address the derailment of another carriage. Railway officials estimate that it will take several hours to restore full service.
