In a recent announcement, officials have confirmed that all government Tamil medium schools in the Central and Uva Provinces will remain closed on November 1, 2024 (Friday) in observance of the Deepavali holiday on October 31.
To compensate for this closure, schools will hold classes on November 9, 2024 (Saturday). This adjustment has been coordinated by the Zonal Education Directors to ensure that students do not miss out on essential learning time.
