The Elections Commission announced that officials are heading to polling stations today (October 25) to oversee the 2024 Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha Election, with ballot papers and boxes being transported to all relevant centers.
This election, using the 2018 voter registration list, will enable 55,643 eligible voters to participate across 48 polling stations in the Elpitiya division. Voting is scheduled for tomorrow (October 26) from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with comprehensive security measures deployed to ensure a smooth election day.
The chairman of the Elections Commission assured voters that every necessary security protocol is in place to ensure a fair and safe election. Additionally, the Executive Director of People’s Action for Free & Fair Elections (PAFFREL), Rohana Hettiarachchi, confirmed that PAFFREL will deploy monitors to each polling station to closely observe the process and uphold election integrity.
