Former Member of Parliament Namal Rajapaksa arrived at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) around 9:00 a.m. this morning (24 October) to provide a statement.

Rajapaksa faced questions from journalists regarding the purpose of his visit to the CID. He responded by stating that he was unsure of the specific reason for his summons and would have to find out once inside.

When pressed for more information, Rajapaksa added, "I don’t know the matter. But it's better to be called in. The only way to get rid of the accusations against us is to come here. Some people lie with conviction, but we are not like that. We will go in, give our statement with conviction, and leave."
